Theres been this hype that people's been making about the birth of the "royal baby" well, my favorite heading poster I saw on my way to work the other morning was 'Royal birth: Who cares?' honestly I don't, why make a fuss of someone you don't know. More than anything people are curious as to see the kid and hear the name of the little boy third in line. Anyways enough about this I'm starting to sound like one who might be obsessing LOL My week has been dragging once again my work load is minimal and finding things to do and looking like I'm busy to the people who watch silently…Its finally Friday!

On a cooler note, Wednesday marked the 15th day of Ramadaan. I think it's moving along quite swiftly, however this blessed month is so amazing and makes you feel grateful for many things….I wouldn't mind my sleepiness to be over though lol 

People have already asked "What you wearing for Eid?" funny thing is I have the most adorbs  outfit in my head but dread the idea of walking around in a mall searching for stuff that doesn't exist LOL I'm not a formal person so finding things I could wear again is really hard, I'm much rather keen on the thought of getting a pair of new sneakers :) I have some stores in mind but I'll have a look, next month hopefully. The weather has been so cold none the less and I'm guessing it might be frosty for a while. The weather says rain the whole weekend, I don't mind sleeping late LOL

Anyways I am freezing my ass off! The office A/C seems a lot colder today and I think I'm borderline flu-ish though which sucks, I'm checking out some A/W 14 stuffs and it makes me all excited with whats out there. Have a look at this trend for the guys, a 90's inspired sport look fused with rock and hip hop reference. It has lots of prints and denim too perfect for the weather and good for layering. I totally hate the shoes that these looks were styled  with, but they all pretty cool. This is called Shaman a laid back very easy  traveller chic in cool shapes and oversized also denims and leopard print. I love all these look except the shoes of course and then I am NOT feeling the leopard on leopard look. Thought I'd just share this info :)

EMERGING TREND "Layered silhouettes"

I'm about a week delayed but it was Mandela Day on the 18th July and also Madiba's 95th Bday and it marks the 67 years he's spent in making our country a better place. To what it is today. Living in South Africa, especially being in Cape Town I see the City Hall and all these historic buildings that have some connection to the big changes his been a part with. You get to contribute 67 minutes of community service to make South Africa a better place. A nice thing to do is feed  the needy, distribute care packages as well as food parcels- a little time to make a difference….Look at me talking about giving up just over an hour and I'm stuck indoors, in a freezing office LOL 

Anyways, I cannot believe how long this week is taking, today is only Tuesday and I already can't wait for the weekend to stay in a bed a little later...seeing that our weather is freezing cold. Our weather in the CBD was amazing until today, where it bucketed in the early hours and I thought we'd have a cold wet day, well its cold but the rain has disappeared for a bit and I see the sun fighting through the cloudy skies. I feel today has been a long day even though its after 14:00pm already and I didn't forget my headset today :) I'm having one of those weeks I know is going to drag out because I have no work…yes I'm getting paid for nothing BUT I hate having nothing to do! Not like I can kill an hour with lunch, but hey it's coz I'm leaving work early for the special month right :)

Because its so cold today I feel my multiple layers have reminded me of a trend that’s emerging, its layering your clothes in an obvious way. So now instead of wearing a tee, open shirt and jacket you'll wear a micro mini skirt over a pair of tailored pants. Or a longer than usual tunic, like a dress over trousers, its basically the layering over pants more than over the tops. I always think of my mom wearing long length tops and little dresses over pants is so parental like, well she's way ahead of the trend now isn't she LOL Have a look at some trend inspiration below…feel inspired to wear an emerging trend for winter, now :)

SO the end of the day is less than 2 hours away and the end of Tuesday is almost done sooo I'm excited to say that my car has been at the garage for a while now, small little things that they've been checking…today I get my baby back! :D Driving a courtesy car that looks exactly like yours on the outside doesn't  drive the same, doesn't smell like my car does and isn't in the same colour *weep* I'm just glad I'll have my car parked again :) Just glad i'll have her by the weekend lol hope you have a great evening all!

Dot-Me-Denim

Good day lovely people! The Mother City is looking pretty amazing out today, left the house in layers and now the sun is peeping through the buildings, too bad I can't go out and absorb some rays LOL. Anyways today I got my update on WGSN and I really love denim and I recently become braver with some pattern and print and whats better that printed denim :) It seems fun and exciting, because its winter the textile will just seem to lift the dark dark colours, it's perfect for the our transitional weather.

Fabrics, polka dot decorated denims and chambray (cotton that looks like a denim, but much lighter weight) this decorations are tonal with different size prints. Small or big dots basically. I like the larger scale applications for a bolder effect, suitable for festival trend where the smaller print is more for your daily casual wear. Colours that are key is deep indigo to faded denims also clean shades of blue for chambrays. 

Key items are turned up skinny jeans, high waist easy fit jeans with tapered ankles, buttoned down shirts, indigo silk blouses.

• Emerald chunky cardi- Cotton On
• Navy super skinny's- Edgars
• Navy high top All Stars- Sport Scene
• Printed silk scarf, grey, lilac, emerald, navy 

I really like this textile trend. Its fun and chic at the same time, the shapes of the bottoms which are the relaxed fit jeans and skinny turn up's, simple and easy to wear with everything. Then secondly who doesn't love the denim/ chambray shirt those are essentials BUT not mix top and bottom with it you might look like a hot mess.

Hope you all feel inspired to wear some deny, lights, medium and dark blues…not just printed but dotted and spotted amazingly :) You can wear this up and casual, I always try and urban style up everything I wear to make it more me…don't I sound like the hood rat I am not ROFL well I will keep you posted as soon as I find polka dot denim, I little birdy told me that retail stores will have it NEXT year only for high winter! Took long! We so behind in SA, it's sad, but if you wanna really be trendy you can shop online :) Asos sale stuff always rocks and it gets quite affordable on sale.

Window watching...

I'm sure if you are fasting you will relate when I say I am ridiculously sleepy, this morning on my way to work I kept dosing off in the train…luckily I didn't and I don't travel alone lol. H

Its the 5th day of Ramadaan, more than anything I am freezing!!! Layered and in my head I should be warm, but it is just not happening for me -__- Anyways I haven't blogged in a while and I've felt so inspired by other peoples local blogs :) Cape Town is cold and overcast and the office window looks bleak coz all I'm thinking about is getting into bed and snuggling… my toes are frozen! Winter fashion is only cute if you not dying of the cold haha! 

The biggest part of my stress at work is over! Yaaay! So now its kinda chilled, I had an intern attached to me for 2weeks and then another, my department has just one left lurking around, I'm just glad she's helpful! I have someone coming to me again though, I'm not looking forward to it at all LOL! None of that matters cox its home time for me sooon!

Stuff i generally like are fun and off-beat, like this trend i dig. One cannot wait for summer once you get a glimpse of whats cool to come right! this old-school-ness still does it for so many have a looksie

theres this pair of sneakers i can't wait to buy from Topshop! they suede black with leopard print sides and canvas front, so 80's i can see it with basically everything :)

So anything a little kitsch and weird can be really fun and super cute. Things from any other time but right now seems to be the coolest thing :) "Retro revival" for example is something that’s taken quite a while to die out, things keep being redone, reworked and redesigned…always emerging into better things.  

These random trend I'm feeling leads to me wanting more random stuff. How I feel the urge to have white painted nails and purple lipsticked lips to go with my gold mid finger rings that are now copper! Cheap junk which is totes overpriced…. Still I buy from the same shop and know I'm getting ripped off LOL! do retro and old-school simply by wearing a top knot bun, pointed sunnies and bold lippy.
