WInter "wicked" White

So right now I'm sitting at work, wishing i could be out of this building...firstly the weather is so lovely out and secondly i am excited for this day to end as tomorrow is a public holiday! Yaaay! Anyways, I'm an over thinker and ...thankfully this time around its about clothes and a beautiful color trend J

I'm pretty sure you not in need of saving to notice what I'm raving about LOL! It's colour analysis that is going to be so big! Todays colour I’m loving is winter white It is so fresh and innocent, its clean crisp finish is appealing to me as sure as many others like it too. Just because is “winter” white doesn’t mean it’s a winter colour, we don’t need to get technical and be literal about a basic colour which is basically a washed out cream but not as yellow.  I do however really like it for winter because people in general have this idea that it is the season for black and greys…BS guys! Rock some kinda colour in your winter looks to brighten up your drab grey-skied day.

I like a good sweater, this one is nice and is an update to the norm because its a little quilted J

I like the simplicity, nice for almost everything; from apparel to home décor it is all chic and sophisticated you almost cant go wrong with it J my personal concern about this colour trend is that people might want to buy “cool” shoes, BUT its s light colour to make work in shoes. I guess simple things like pumps or a basic sneaker (like a tommy) will be acceptable and compliment your entire look. Be careful of heels and refrain from the boots, as they could possibly look most tacky.

I am totally chilled now, i had a deadline for 10 this morning not i go to post my insight and ideas on winter white! i did something thats not exactly my job title...playing "graphic/textile designer" I'm not gonna complain at least it was something different from the norm. I Hope you peeps have a great Tuesday because is like a mini Friday, tomorrow is a public holiday here in S.A 1 May is 'Workers Day' J

GOLD everything.

‘Another day, another dollar’ that’s the phrase many people use to get through shit days and weeks at work I guess. For me its ‘Another day, another train ride -_-‘ this morning I realized how much I hate public transport. I've heard and been told by some peeps to take the train as its easy, simple and care free and most importantly affordable where you avoid ALL traffic. Some call me OCD and obviously the stench and stuffiness bothers me A LOT its just absolutely disgusting and I can't help but bitch and complain about it.   

It’s definitely not like the movies where you hop on a “nice” train coz you cant smell through the TV hahaha! The subways overseas looks way nicer too. Anyways I didn't get time today to blog, I’m currently on the Topshop website and I am dreaming about shopping again! Its cool that Cape Town finally has one, a little disappointing where quality is concerned. I love that their visual merchandising is so straightforward and commercial. I would compare their quality to Cotton On but their prices are more on path with Zara.

I finally got me some joggers from Cotton On, Super cheap and so lovely. I totally need aaaall the colours now, I can tell they’ll replace my “jeggings” for high winter. Topshop had pretty cool ones; I must say they were original…proper skinny sweats J I think guys should really check out their collection, amazing, cool everything! If only I had a guy to dress I’d be a lot more excited LOL! 

Anyhoo, this post will be all about colour gold, which is going to be one of the hot trends this season as forecasted by one of the worlds leading fashion sites WGSN J Have a look at some cool things I found, from Polyvore to random blogs. Gold is always cool, so chic if done properly however it can easily go wrong and you will look like a tacky clown, so be careful and selective about how you put your shit together

From all things varying at sweat tops to bottoms and lipstick to handbags all things-gold is looking so good and I’m excited to buy and own some more black in my wardrobe it can definitely be toned down a little bit; think its kinda loud with certain stuff but I’ll need more space soon actually. I don’t know how I feel about a gold pants; even a gold jacket, but I see possibility in something amazing in a dress or a jumper. Check out my finds…

BLUE DENIM BABY

It might be a little funny for me to say "I love my natural hair color" only because I'm a little bit of a “bottle blonde” but in reverse, basically I have ombre hair with my natural hair color on the top and its dip dyed dark blonde. This trend has been around for a while, kinda season in, season out…just like the washes on this amazing denim pieces. I know I've blogged about denim before, a little obsessive but because I’m a skinny jeans sneakers kinda gal I just will again! :)

I’m not sure if denim is the greatest idea in winter because it can become really cold when it’s cold, not great for summer because it’s too heavy. Nice thing about lightweight denims is that you can layer them. Chambray, which is like denim look-a-like, is perfect, wear a vest or long sleeve crew neck under to stay warm this winter…

I could probably die and come back to life for this denim parka!! It is soooo beautiful I love it! The best way to actually wear it is to rock it like the picture, keep it real simple tie your hair up and wear whatever flats you totally feeling at the moment I think denim could never date. Just don’t do it tacky as it can easily look bad, things like washes, finishes, trims and stitch detail can all contribute the look of the garment. Every denim wardrobe should own.

It is also MORE than ok to wear denim on denim, I am quite the f%*#?n hey! Mix light and dark, washes and colours, i.e. like mixing light denim with dark or medium denim also keep it clean so that you not all tattered and torn from head to toe. Please don’t ever own, look at or consider glancing over at a pair of anything denim on your feet, that shits just wrong…unless they are cool sneakers even so be VERY careful or just ultra safe by not even going there to prove your bravery.

Anyway denim can be worn with plenty other fabrics, I personally find it cool mixed with other things like knits and leather, especially for the guys J I was on the River Island website and found these amazing things! So on my obvious topic of denim, its still pretty cool for you boys to be pairing denim on denim. I absolutely love the denim jacket with knit sleeves and hood, well there’s a few things here I really like a lot and there’s simple ways of looking good but keeping it simple and not trying to hard. 

Every guy should own a good checked shirt...why not add some denim ;)

On the last notes of denim, the weather in the mother city is so beautiful out today, none the less it is butt freezing hopefully it’ll turn out to be a lovely warm day…I don’t know why but I am in the mood to shop like a psycho even though I’m still feeling flu-ish and whatever else of my body aching and cramping for now its work time so lets get Thursday out the way for Friday and get to the weekend. Missing my denim shorts so maybe the weather will be amazing this weekend…I’m just wishful thinking! Hope you all have a great day!!
