'SOMETHING ODD...'

So its been quite a while since I've updated this little spot! I've been busy sorting things out and i realized how much I've missed clothes and trends, so today i'll be telling you about the retro trend and 'little odd' but awesome pieces :) This trend is easy to pull off, and you'll look totally cool rocking it for the festive season!

CHECK OUT THE BOARD...
A totally chic and summer style, its simple and spot on

PIECES THAT INSPIRE...

The items below are actually clothing items that are in our stores at the moment. don't be afraid to mix it up with things you already own- take something inexpensive and make it look amazing.
sneakers rock!! i am that girl who'd go gaga over a pair of high tops before those killer heels but for this look its totally adorable and fun- lady like and street. NB! shoes and bag might no longer be in store.
Wear a basic knitted sweater, a 'granny' jersey is just as great for this look. A simple shape with a random print :)

wear formal trouser shorts or high waist shorts with this look, it pulls it together nicely
wear any excessive charm bracelet or dangly stuff form your wrists
visit costume stores, you might find some cool and unusual bags or purses

dont be afraid of the bazaar shoes, however if you not brave enough- opt for chunky heels

Check out the bag!!! :D

easy laid back chic
see the simplicity in these two looks- easy to pull off and even easier to find :) NB! the shoes and bag might no longer be in stores
simple items, yet all printed makes it striking
the adorable hat and tied up shirt- do it yourself with any tee and knot it to the side or in the middle :)
random printed blouse, with classic tweed Chanel- beautiful
unusual necklace- check out random little jewels at Sass Diva
wide leg jumpsuit- bold colour says it all :)
SEE HOW SIMPLE IT IS...
Pair up super modern things like a leather bag and woven wedges with something completely odd like over-sized jersey dress

'Remember to keep makeup simple- a matte face with a wide line of liquid liner, over the top eyelashes are lovely. Super black mascara and nude lip is perfect. if you not wearing the trend in clothes, you may go all out with accessories like pointed or round sunnies with a red lip. keep hair neat wearing a low bun in the nape if makeup is bold or keep it loose and flowy if makeup is minimal.'
Good luck rocking random! ;)

JUNGLE FEVER

there's been loads of animal print seen internationally and all over the mother city! i think its a super hot trend, it can however be over killed and over done! so just be careful of your choices when and if you decide to get something...the key to looking chic and different is to personalizing the trend to suit your own taste. you could wear it up to a formal or dress it funky for a fun event, either way you'll look great, but i suggest to buy less obvi and typical prints. good luck rocking this look ;)

...CHECK OUT MY MOODBOARD FOR INSPIRATION...
the first look is very simple, funky and definitely fun; a total new take on leopard! the other is more sophisticated, opt for a python or any other snake print instead of the obvious.

TAKE THE JUNGLE TO THE STREETS...
go aaaaal out by wearing bold pieces of every print!  everything about this looks intense...
OR
opt for something simple! keep the look polished  and  clean by paring a mini dress up with a pair of statement shoes :D

A LOOK TO TRY OUT>>>
wear a pretty blouse, sheer and flowy
+
denim cut offs (make sure they not too messy)
+

ONE key item
=
AMAZINGLY CHIC but simple

FUNKING UP THE JUNGLE...

this animal prints can be dressed a little formally, even for everyday- it just somehow works! and then also try a cute fun approach- pair it up with booby socks or knee highs and some cool classics pieces.

a retro looking peter pan collared blouse
+
a cool distressed denim shorts, one that's very 'care free'
+
a totally unpredictable pair of animal printed high top sneakers!
=
AWESOMELY FUNKY, but not overdone

...MAKEUP...

keep makeup mysterious, focus on the eyes and  keep hair natural looking and not over over worked. loose waves are perfect or an untidy pinned up look. never gloss up lips, keep final look simple and tonal dont make lips too dark or bright.

GOOD LUCK FINDING YOUR LOOK TO ROCK!

Little bits & bobs of me...

So life's been really crazy latey...but in a good way! Even though i'm a little freaked you get that feeling when you soooo stressed out you go into chill mode! well i thought i'd update the blog now, taking you back to second year once again! 2nd year 'TRINNY AND SUSANNAH' fashion show (Granger Bay V&A) I had a brief to design a leisure wear look, my inspiration was 80s grunge as it was totally hott at the time! check out my moodboard and see if you catch my idea before the design! :)
 ...THE MOODBOARD...

...THE RANGE BOARDS...
I was really inspired by the streets! i love how dark and edgy it all looks; the feel is super edgy yet is glamorous all at the same time. It was a trend that had EVERYTHING over sized, ill-fitted and definitely street chic
This looks is a little more polished, consists of a distressed denim cross-over hooded dress- tied closed with a piece of chain, the dress has huge pockets as well, a sequined long length vest, purple faded denim skinny's and stirrup legwarmers

This look consists of a large sequined hooded jacket, printed vest, denim waist coat and super low slung distressed jeans tucked into woolen legwarmers
this hooded denim dress has more paneling detail and lots of top-stitching! i love the idea of the double skinny studded belts. The look has a knitted short sleeve longer length tee under a sequinned waistcoat with denim jeggings and legwarmers.

...THE PRODUCT...
this is the look i made...
I made the beanie from a woolen knit and made the chain from glass beads and silver chain!  Fabrications are as follow-
vest: silver and black sequinned mesh
over sized shirt: poly cotton
Boyfriend jeans distressed denim: bleached, sand papered, grated!
